£18,070 – £20,661 pro rata – 7 hours a week

Tollerton Parish Council is seeking a Finance Officer to manage its funds to best effect to bring improvements across the parish.  You will manage our budgets and help us raise funds to deliver our Parish Plan and other improvements sought by the parish council.

You will have experience managing finances from an accountancy, procurement or contract management background and will use this to ensure the Council achieves value for money from its contracts for key local services including maintenance of open spaces across the parish.

As our responsible finance officer you will ensure that the Council operates effective systems of financial management and control and acts within its powers.  You will also support the Council to establish the Tollerton Community Trust and fulfill its role as a charitable trustee.

This is an interesting and varied position with opportunities to support councillors to make decisions and to gain a qualification in the governance of parish councils.  Attendance is required at some evening meetings, arranged as necessary throughout the year, with flexibility to work from home at other times.

Applicants should have experience managing budgets and accounts.  A finance background or qualification and some local government experience would benefit anyone interested in this role.
