In January 2022 we conferred the ‘Honorary Freedom of the Parish’ on Julian Smith QPM, in recognition of his valued and outstanding service to the Tollerton community over his 25 years as Parish Councillor.
Under the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 – Parish Councils were given the ability to confer the honour of ‘Honorary Freedom of the Parish’ onto an individual. The Freedom of the Parish is the highest honour the Parish Council can give.
Julian retired at the end of 2020 and we wanted to pay special tribute with this award for his tireless efforts in serving the village (pic: Honorary Freeman Julian Smith QPM presented with the honour from Chairman Cllr Matt Garrard).
