The new replacement games area on the Open Space is coming this autumn.

Several years after the previous facility was removed, the new games area will provide an all-weather play area for a number of sports including football and basketball as well as other informal games.

New Games Area

Improvements to the Open Space was one of the top requests from residents in the parish plan consultation and the new games area is a result of years of fund raising and contributions from residents through the Tollerton Recreation Improvement Scheme. With the support of the Parish Council who have provided the last of the needed funding, work on this priority improvement is now going ahead.

Work is expected to take approximately a month and then there will be a slight delay to allow the tarmac to set before lines can be painted on it for different sports. The new games area is expected to be brought into use in October with a formal opening to follow at a later date.

Please note that during construction work access to some areas of the Open Space will be temporarily restricted – The car park is closed and there is currently no vehicle access. To ensure everyone’s safety please do not enter these areas until notices have been put up to confirm that the work has been completed and that it is safe to start using the car park and new games area.
