Tollerton Parish Council is delighted to announce the completion of the new multi-use games area and car park at the Open Space, Lothian Road. Improved Games AreaChildren from Tollerton School’s class R were invited to become the first users of the new games area as part of their walk around the village on 17 November.

The games area is marked out for five a side football (red lines) and basketball (yellow lines, with permanent goals and basketball backboard and net.

White lines have been set out for tennis and a net will be installed in summer on demand. The games area is now open for use with a formal opening ceremony to follow at next year’s village fayre.

The games area would not have been achievable without the most generous financial support of the local based charity, Winifred Eileen Kemp Trust who donated £42,200 towards this part of the scheme.  The Parish Council provided the final funding to get this scheme the go ahead and also acknowledges grants from County Councillor Reg Adair – and Rushcliffe Borough Council towards the upgrade of the car park.

Both the Tollerton Recreation Improvement Scheme and Tollerton Parish Council also wish to acknowledge the work of Mr Paul Toplass in bringing this about.
